Catalina Island

Andrew Groves, Travis Chapman
Although this was our most overcast day of the trip, the Mediterranean-inspired charm of Catalina still shone through. We visited a couple of the (very) touristy shops along the waterfront, then walked out to the old casino and ballroom at the edge of the harbor. We also rented one of the ubiquitous golf carts and took a one-hour ride around the island. This was actually very enjoyable and allowed us to see many picturesque vistas of both the harbor and the town of Avalon.
